I have tried to install pTeX into Leopard by using fink in these days. It's too hard to install ptex-base since the version of tetex-texmf is too old. Though I have succeeded the upgrade of tetex-texmf, I can't remove ptex-base such as: $ sudo apt-get remove ptex-base Why not? :(

I have installed, or strictly speaking, it should be said "upgraded from Panther(10.3) to", Leopard(10.5) into my iBook G4. Application performance is lighter than I have expected, except some web applications including Gmail etc. It may be right that I have changed from the 128 MB memory to another 1GB one. My xubuntu has been upgraded from 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) to 9.10 (Karmic Koala). I have purchased another personal computer, which has preinstalled windows XP, in last summer and I have installed xubuntu 9.04 into the new PC. I had many troubles in install of xubuntu. In particular, I had failed to set the partition so that I had reinstalled twice and I had wasted the capacity with about 8 GB.

I could not the LaTeX command: "\qformat" on my first PC (Mac OS X). Then, I searched the style file "exam.sty" which had been installed by using the command "find".$ sudo find / -name exam.styWhen I opened the file with Emacs, I found out that the version of exam.sty was too old.I have to rewrite or overwrite this file. orz

When you look up the keyword "probability" in youtube, you can find some useful movies about probability whose contents are very further and educational (e.g. martingales or conditional probability). I really think that we should make use of youtube like this.On the other hand, when we look up the keyword "kakuritu" (the Japanese word which means probability), we can hardly find useful movies.
