exam.sty

I could not the LaTeX command: "\qformat" on my first PC (Mac OS X). Then, I searched the style file "exam.sty" which had been installed by using the command "find".

$ sudo find / -name exam.sty

When I opened the file with Emacs, I found out that the version of exam.sty was too old.

I have to rewrite or overwrite this file. orz

Ginjiro's stochastic path hasn't gotten out of "Panther" yet.

Snow leopard (10.6) has been released for several months. But I still use Panther (10.3). The reason is that I want to use UNIX applications further by installing fink. I'm afraid that if I install 10.6, then I can't use some UNIX applications, in particular about LaTeX, and I have to wait for update by fink.

I installed the packages: "ddskk" and "skk-dict" yesterday. Though my computer couldn't install the file "apel" completely, I ignored it and I installed SKK with existing files.

Finally, I could use SKK and could input Japanese letters with no fatal errors. But when I submitted some (technical) words into SKK-jisyo, no messages appeared.

My UNIX environment still seems to contain some 'stochastic' noises. ;D

My random walk path doesn't stop. XD

I will have to go to Kyoto on December 1st (to 4th) to participate in a probabilistic symposium. And I will have to go to Matsuyama after that, in order to participate in another symposium. I don't know whether I have time to visit Kumano-ryo or not.

Nice randomness! But I want to have time such that I can study well.

RW begins to move again :D

I'm going to participate in the probabilistic symposium which will be held in Tokyo university. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to Okayama due to financial problems. :(

What kind of "sigma-field" is this "unstable" random walk path "measurable" by? :)

Probability

When you look up the keyword "probability" in youtube, you can find some useful movies about probability whose contents are very further and educational (e.g. martingales or conditional probability). I really think that we should make use of youtube like this.

On the other hand, when we look up the keyword "kakuritu" (the Japanese word which means probability), we can hardly find useful movies. orz

I'm overwhelmed by many errors

I have never completed installation of Xubuntu 9.04 to my second machine(machine: Lavie Light black, OS: Windows XP Home edition). I have installed xubuntu 9.04 (in dualboot). I have shutdown by "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" since Xfce has been frozen when I log out. If I restart, then I have gotten the following error message:

GDM could not write a new authorization entry to disk. Possibly out of diskspace.
Error: No space on device.

Could not start the X server (your graphical environment) due to some internal error.
Please contact your administrator In the meantime this display will be disabled.
Please restart GDM when the problem is corrected.

When I researched by above messages in WWW, I have found the following pages.

PC will not boot: problem with "full" harddisk / device
Translations by Takeshi AIHANA
Solving Error when using df -h
xubuntu boot error - won't start x server
root partiton mounts as ro, causes gdm and X problems
Could not start the X server -- Ubuntu forums
ThinkPad X40 problem with Xubuntu -- Personal blog
ubuntu X server internal error -- Ubuntu forums

But I don't know whether these solutions contribute to my troubles or not.

Any ideas?

Installing 3 applications to Xfce...

Though I have tried to install pLaTeX, Emacs22 and TeXmacs to Xubuntu 9.04 for these several days, it has never been completed yet. I have some noisy errors. I want to install the last 3 applications and to use as soon as possible.
